About the fabrics
This little guide will help you understand the different fabrics we're using to create our products.
Cashmere Wool
These wool covers are made mainly from a wool cashmere blend, which makes them incredibly soft. The fabric is felted and thickended which gives the perfect foundation for a cloth nappy, and of course many other things like apparel and baby items. You want this wool on your skin.
Our wool is carefully sourced from Tibet and Mongolia, distributed by Crose fabric which have specialized in the trade silks and woolen fabrics.
100% woven cotton
The outer of all our nappy covers is made of this 100% cotton fabric. Designed by one of my favorite designers Joecelyn Proust.
Jocelyn often draws inspiration from her natural environment. From observing, photographing and drawing plants and birds in her garden, she uses these natural elements to create unique designs suitable for all kind of kids apparel.
We're feeling very honoured to work with such incredible materials. Go check out her page - she has an impressive social media presence with a large, engaged audience of followers on Instagram. @jocelynproustdesigns
REPREVE® Stay Dry
Parents are beginning to wonder if synthetics are safe for their babies when it comes to them. In the cloth diaper industry, synthetic fibers also face stiff competition, but some of these are completely unjustified, as synthetics are not all cheap.
Well, lets go a bit deeper into this absorbent fabric as this is the only 100% synthetic fiber we're using but for some valuable reasons!
- It keeps babys bum dry.
- It is easier to clean than everything you know!
- It is made from post consumer plastic bottles.
The synthetic lining of the pocket nappy, which is one of the two main nappy systems on the market (pocket covers and wipable/multi-use covers), keeps the baby's bum dry.
While with all other covers the absorbent material needs to fulfill the stay dry requirement. Given that you want your baby to have a dry bottom, but we assume so :)
So we've created our stay dry range [Inserts and Trifolds] for this special purpose.
All of them are made from organic cotton plus feature this special absorbent stay dry lining made from polyester.

Zorb
Like the name implements, Zorb is designed to be very absorbent. There is no general type of fiber or material that constitutes a zorb, it's the way it's woven what makes it Zorb. So Zorb can be generally everything like Cotton, Bamboo or Repreve. For our inserts we use: Repreve and Cotton.
Hemp
Another great absorbent material is hemp. As it can be quite stiff, our supplier combines it with cotton so that fibers are more stable and flexible. So when were talking about Hemp it means 45% Cotton / 55% Hemp blend.
Bamboo
When talking about our Pre-Flats you'll often hear stretchy Bamboo, Bamboo/Cotton blend Pre-Flats.
In fact, it is similar to hemp fabric in that way, Bamboo is combined with 25% Cotton and 5% Spandex leading to it's desired characteristics.
- Bamboo for the very high absorbency
- Cotton to make it absorb fast enough
- Spandex to create that snug fit around the babys bottom [keeping surprises inside ;)]
